The Handbook of
Roman Imperial Coins
by David VanMeter
This 334 page soft cover book is, in my opinion, one of the best quick reference guides dealing with Roman Imperial Coins. It covers all major coin types between 27BC and 498AD. The first 58 pages of this guide contains extensive background material to help you become familiar with the basics of Roman Coins.  Highly recommended for the new collector. – 2 available
Roman Republican Coinage

Volume two contains studies and plates. I use my personal copy of Crawford on very regular basis and find it indispensible resource. This copy is in like new condition with no marks or wear.
